Scribbler’s Ink Monthly Creative Writing Contest
Scribbler’s Ink proudly hosts a Monthly Creative Writing Contest designed to inspire, celebrate, and elevate young writers ages 9 to 13. Each month, aspiring authors are invited to submit their most imaginative and original work for the opportunity to win meaningful prizes that support their creative journey.
Contest Details
- Application Fee: $25
- Recognition: At the close of each contest cycle, winners are announced and featured on the Scribbler’s Ink website, complete with their photo and biography, celebrating their creativity and introducing them to our growing community of readers.
More Than a Contest
The Scribbler’s Ink Monthly Creative Writing Contest exists to support young writers as they move forward with their dreams of storytelling and self-expression. We believe creativity deserves recognition early. When young voices are seen, encouraged, and shared, they grow in confidence and begin to understand that their ideas matter.
Who Can Enter
- Ages: 9–13
- Open to: Young writers with a love for storytelling
- Submission Type: Original short stories only
There is no theme. Stories should come straight from the heart of creativity.
How to Enter
All entries are submitted directly through the Scribbler’s Ink website.

- Contest Opens: 3rd of each month
- Submission Deadline: 13th of each month
- Winners Announced: Last day of each month
Judging Process
- Entries are reviewed by a panel of Scribbler’s Ink staff, volunteers, teachers, and local authors who are passionate about nurturing young talent.

Rules & Guidelines
- Submissions must be original and written by the child
- No AI-generated content
- No profanity or inappropriate material
- One entry per participant per month
- All winners may be featured on the Scribbler’s Ink website, social media, or future anthologies.
Parent & Guardian Consent
Before submitting payment, a parent or guardian must check the consent box confirming approval for participation and publication consideration for children under 18.
