Who can enter?

Children ages 9–13 with a love for storytelling.

Is there a theme?

No. Writers are encouraged to create freely and submit stories straight from the heart.

What kind of writing is accepted?

Original short stories only. illustrations are acceptable, but will not be judged.

Is there a word limit?

No formal word limit. Stories should be age-appropriate and complete.

How are entries judged?

Stories are evaluated on creativity, storytelling, voice, clarity, effort, and age-appropriate execution by a panel of staff, volunteers, teachers, and local authors.

How much does it cost to enter?

The entry fee is $25 per submission.

Can my child enter more than once?

One entry per child, per month.

Do all participants receive prizes?

No. Prizes are awarded to first- and second-place winners only.

Will winning stories be published?

Winning entries may be featured on the Scribbler’s Ink website, social media, and future anthologies.
